Nova Scotia Coastal Map Series

• The Coastal Map Series consists of 132 1:50000 scale maps depicting land and marine features around Nova Scotia’s coastline out to the 12 mile limit including Sable Island. The Coastal Series supports a variety of mapping applications involving coastal resource inventories, aquaculture, community economic development, and environmental planning.

• The land features are topographic features from the 1:10000 NSTDB, generalized to 1:50000 with 10 metre contour intervals, forest cover from the 1:10000 DNR database, and bathymetric features from CHS data with symbology. It is unique in that the CHS bathymetry data was standardized from feet, fathoms and metres to show it all in metres.
